The album Grzegorz Kapołka Trio Live at NOSPR is a recording of the concert that took place in the Concert Hall of the NOSPR in October 2019.

The performance of the Trio was preceding a concert of the legendary guitarist John McLaughlin with the project Fourth Dimension.

The trio played in the leader's favorite line-up, with Darek Ziółek on the bass, and Alan Kapołka, the drummer, and privately the son of Grzegorz Kapołka. "I love this line-up and the interaction between the musicians during performances, that's what I really like," says Grzegorz.

 

Grzegorz Kapołka, a Silesian blues guitarist, is a graduate of the Jazz and Popular Music Department of the Academy of Music in Katowice.

Member of the Phonographic Academy. President of the Guitar and Blues Association. Multiple winner in the category - Best Polish blues guitarist -2001, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2020.

He is one of the best guitarists in Poland. This prestigious place was made up of many elements, many years of activity on the music scene, composing work characterized by a wide range of stylistic interests - from blues and rock to jazz, and above all, Kapołka's outstanding qualities as an instrumentalist.

Grzegorz has 7 original albums, 2 concert albums and over 60 albums on which he was a session musician.

The first Trio album from 1999, "Blue Blues", was recognized by the prestigious magazine "Muzyk" as "the best Polish blues album ever released".
In the "Guitar Top" ranking (2002) he was recognized as the best blues guitarist in Poland, while the album "Blue Blues II" took 1st place in the "Best Blues guitar album" category.

The Tria album "Blue Blues 3" was nominated for the prestigious "Fryderyk" award in the "Best Album of the Year - Blues" category.

He recorded the Darek Janus album Mr DJ with Frank Gambale and Robin Eubanks. The guitarist's solo discography includes six original albums: I'm Believing (1996), Blue Blues (1999), Blue Blues II (2001), Blue Blues 3 (2008), Blues 4 You (2013), 5th Avenue Blues (2017), Super Blue Blues (2018).

 

For over 30 years he has been cooperating with Irek Dudek, he played in the legendary formation Young Power.

He has performed, among others in the USA, Canada, England, Scotland, Sweden, Finland, Greece, France, Germany, Russia, Lithuania, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain.
