KaZióGra, the guitarist Grzegorz Kapołka's latest project in collaboration with bassist Dariusz Ziółek and trumpeter Antoni Gralak and supported by drummer Alan Kapołka (Grzegorz's son) is an eclectic dialog of four uncompromising musical individualities. They named the effect of their collaboration Colors to invite listeneres to a musical rollercoaster, from the jazz ballad to jazz-rock, from warm, cozy hues to the chill of metal.

 

Grzegorz Kapołka, a Silesian blues guitar player, graaduate of the Department of Jazz and Popular Music at The Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. Member of the Phonographic Academy. Director of „Gitara i Blues” association. Multiple winner in the The Best Polish Blues Guitar Player category (2001, 2014, 2016).

He is amongst the best guitar players in Poland an outstanding guitar virtuoso with a long creative career spanning styles from blues and rock to jazz.

To date, Grzegorz has recorded six own studio albums and two live albums, as well as over 50 albums as a session musician.

His trio's first album was hailed as "The best Polish blues album ever made” by the prestigious magazine "Muzyk”. In "Guitar Top” ranking (2002) he was found as the best Polish blues guitar player, and his album "Blue Blues” took the first prize in "The Best Polish Blues Guitar Album”.

His trio's third album was nominated for the "Fryderyk” award in the "best blues album of the year” category.

He took part in Darek Janus’ album Mr DJ with Frank Gambale and Robin Eubanks. So far, his solo discography includes six own albums: I’m Believing (1996), Blue Blues (1999), Blue Blues II (2001), Blue Blues 3 (2008), Blues 4 You (2013), 5th Avenue Blues (2017), Super Blue Blues (2019).

He has played with Irek Dudek for almost 30 years and was a mamber of the legendary jazz band Young Power.

He has toured the USA, Canada, UK, Sweden, Finland, Greece, France, Germany, Russia, Lithuania, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Spain and more.
