"A Brief Insight into Life" is the result of the experienced vocalist's creative pursuits over the last five years. It presents intimate stories about all that is important: people and moments, feelings and senses: love, shapes, flavour smells gestures emotions, toil and laughter, joys and jokes.

Agnieszka Maciaszczyk hails from Poznań, a cum laude graduate of jazz vocal studies at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. A vocalist, author of lyrics and music, associated with the Tri-City for over 14 years, from which she draws inspiration for creating and living.

She has been awarded many times in international competitions and festivals, including:

  • finalist of the 4th Azoty Tarnów Jazz Contest (as the only woman in her category)
  • winner of the 3rd place at Swingujący Kruk 2013 in Częstochowa
  • finalist of the National Festival of Artistic Song WSCHODY in Lublin
  • winner of the special award (2015) and 2nd place (2016) at the BLUE NOTE JAZZ COMPETITION in Poznań
  • winner of the 2nd place at the Novum Jazz Festival (the highest award given to a vocalist at this competition so far)

In 2014, she had the pleasure of performing at the Ladies Jazz Festival in Gdynia, leading her Agnieszka Maciaszczyk Quintet.

In the summer of 2015, the vocalist released an EP, on which she is supported by wonderful musicians: Michał Ciesielski – piano and keyboards, Jarosław Stokowski – bass guitar and double bass, Adam Golicki – drums, Kaya Meller – trumpet, Szymon Łukowski – saxophones and bass clarinet.

In 2017, she dedicated a concert tour to the outstanding vocalist Dianne Reeves.

In 2018, she released her own material “In Search of”, which premiered at the XI Novum Jazz Festival in Łomża.

On her debut album, the vocalist is accompanied by wonderful musicians from Gdańsk, Bydgoszcz and Wrocław: pianist Michał Ciesielski, double bassist Michał Bąk, drummer Przemysław Jarosz, saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Szymon Łukowski. The song "Someday" stayed on the TOP JAZZ jazz hit list on Polskie Radio Pik for 6 weeks.

When not on stage, Agnieszka Maciaszczyk teaches singing and song interpretation - in 2014-2018 at the Jazz and Stage Music Department at the Gdańsk Academy of Music, in 2013-2021 at private music schools: Yamaha School, Stage Monster, Rock Academy New Drums School - and currently at her own singing studio in the heart of Gdańsk.
